1. Who We Are

goldendoodleinsurance.com ("the Site") is owned and operated by Best Dog Insurance LLC, an independent U.S. publisher organized in the State of Utah. We are not an insurance company, agent, broker, or underwriter. We publish breed-specific editorial research about pet insurance for Goldendoodle owners. Editorial questions and privacy requests both reach us at bestdoginsurance@gmail.com. Allen Lee, Founder, is the data controller for the purposes of this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We keep collection deliberately minimal. There are exactly three ways data reaches us:

Automatically collected technical data — only after you accept analytics cookies:

• Browser type and version
• Operating system and device category (desktop, mobile, tablet)
• Referring website or search engine
• Pages visited, time on page, and scroll depth
• Approximate city or region derived from an anonymized IP address

Information you volunteer — when you submit our lead-capture form, we receive the name and email address you type, plus any message you include. Nothing on this Site requires you to create an account or provide a phone number.

Information we do not collect — we do not collect payment information, Social Security numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, or veterinary records. Inputs you enter into our cost calculator (dog age, weight, ZIP code, deductible) are processed in your browser to produce an estimate and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

• To understand which guides readers find useful and where our content falls short
• To detect and prevent spam, scraping, and abuse of our forms
• To meet our legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not build advertising audiences from it.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR/UK GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process personal data on these bases: consent for analytics and cookies (which you give through our cookie banner and can withdraw at any time); legitimate interests for site security, abuse prevention, and aggregate audience measurement; and legal obligation where retention is required by law. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place lawfully.

5. Cookies, Analytics, and Consent

Analytics on this Site is consent-gated. Google Analytics 4 does not load and sets no cookies until you press "Accept" on our cookie banner. If you decline or ignore the banner, no analytics script is initialized. When analytics is active, we enable IP anonymization and do not enable Google Signals, advertising features, or cross-device remarketing.

6. Affiliate Links and Partner Tracking

This Site contains affiliate links to third-party pet insurance providers. When you click one, you leave our Site through a short interstitial page and the partner or its tracking network (for example an affiliate platform such as Impact) may set cookies or record a click identifier to attribute a resulting quote or policy to us. We may earn a commission at no additional cost to you, and commissions never determine our editorial rankings — see our Advertising Disclosure.

We do not receive your quote answers, health disclosures, or payment details from partners. Once you are on a partner's site, that partner's privacy policy governs the data you provide.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose data only to service providers that operate the Site under contract — our hosting and database provider, our transactional email sender, and Google Analytics — each limited to what they need to perform that service. We may also disclose information when required by law, valid legal process, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

8. Data Retention

Lead-capture submissions are retained for up to 24 months so we can maintain a record of correspondence, then deleted. Aggregated analytics data expires on our provider's 14-month retention window. Cookie-consent records persist for up to 12 months so we do not re-prompt you unnecessarily. You may request earlier deletion at any time.

9. Data Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are transmitted encrypted and stored in a managed database with row-level access controls, and access is limited to the site operator. No method of transmission or storage over the Internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify affected individuals as required by applicable law.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal data we hold, request a copy, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, limit or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, request deletion or correction, and opt out of any sale or sharing. As stated above, we do not sell or share personal information, so no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" mechanism is required — but you may still send us a request and we will honor it.

How to submit a request: email bestdoginsurance@gmail.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" and tell us what you want us to do. We respond within 30 days (45 days for CCPA requests where an extension applies) and may ask for information to verify your identity. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with written permission.

11. International Data Transfers

The Site and its service providers are located in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., your information is transferred to and processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, our providers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms.

12. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, email us and we will delete it promptly.

13. Third-Party Links

The Site links to third-party websites, including insurance providers and primary sources cited in our research. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Review their policies before providing personal information.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices or the law change. Revisions are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and material changes will be summarized at the top of the page. Continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
